Knowledge Is Power
October 31, 2011 | Author Kate
Today I have a brilliant guest post from Farouk at
2knowmyself. Thank-you Farouk!
Why knowledge is power
Most people have heard the saying `knowledge is power' but sadly most
people didn't quite get the meaning behind that saying.
Even if you never noticed this before each and every task that you
successfully do is only done correctly because you have the right
knowledge.
For example, right know you are reading this post online, if you didn't
know how to use a computer and how to browse the internet you would
have never reached this article.
Knowledge of internet and computer is simple because almost everyone
has it but on the other hand there are some areas of knowledge that can
help you solve all of the life problems you encounter yet most people
are reluctant to learn about them!

Self Confidence vs Self Esteem
October 17, 2011 | Author Kate
It seems the terms self-confidence and self esteem are used
interchangeably. And we all want more of both of them!
But what is the difference, and why does that matter?
Dictionary defines them as:
Self esteem: A realistic respect for or favourable impression of
oneself; self-respect.
Self confidence: Realistic confidence in one's own judgment, ability,
power, etc.

Victims of Our Own Intelligence?
September 12, 2011 | Author Kate
I am currently reading Alan Carr's The Easyway to Control Alcohol
very interesting approach, as is his take on smoking.
There was one paragraph though, that really stood out to me, about
where we are right now....
.......in a quick fix culture that trusts technology over nature. The
vision of the industrial revolution was that science would set man free
but, like Frankenstein and his monster, there has been a reversal of
roles, and we have become slaves to the technology we have created.
We are victims of our own intelligence: the intelligence that separates
us from all other animals. The intelligence that invents an exercise
bike to burn all the energy we didn't use sitting at our desk jobs, so
that we can earn lots of money to spend on energy saving devices like
TV remote controls, which turns us into sedentary sloths who have to go
to the gym on sunny days to ride a bicycle that doesn't go anywhere.

Dr Seuss Quotes - My Top 25!
September 5, 2011 | Author Kate
I ran a webinar the other day and included the brilliant Dr Seuss quote
"Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't
matter, and those who matter don't mind."
Looking at Wikipedia yesterday apparently this was misattributed and
wasn't even a Dr Seuss quote! It was said by Bernard Baruch, who I
hadn't heard of before but also came out with many insightful
quotes........but today I'm sticking with Dr Seuss.

Preventing SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder)
August 22, 2011 | Author Kate
I got up at 5.30am this morning and it was the first morning since
spring time I had to turn on a light. Even though it is August, summer
time, the nights are getting shorter and the sun is rising later.
Most people think of Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) as hitting hard
in mid December when we have barely 8 hours of light if we are lucky -
in some places much, much less than this.
But just like everything, prevention is better than cure so whether you
tend to get a mild feeling of winter blues or more severe depression,
here are some practical things you can implement now, to prevent it's
onset.
1.Get outside. Unfortunately the way we live nowadays makes it easier
to go for long periods of time with no time outside. We go from home to
the car, car to the office, back to the car, perhaps into the
supermarket or gym....but rarely spend time out in the elements.
So make 30 minutes a day to get outside. Walk around the block at
lunchtime, take the kids to the park in the rain and splash in the
puddles, go for a cycle instead of the gym.
Get wet, cold and windswept....or feel the warmth of the sun!
Experience all weather conditions and notice the seasons.

Do You Know What You Want? When Goal Setting Is Pointless...
July 17, 2011 | Author Kate
Do you know what you want?
Most people I work with have some amount of dissatisfaction in their
lives. The scale is huge, from wanting to change their career, husband,
religion and home, to just a nagging voice telling them there is
something more to life.
Nearly everyone can tell me in detail, all the crappy things about
their lives, most are adept at turning the question `so what do you
want?' into `what I don't want and why it is so hard'.

The zorgium specific results appear in the right hand margin.
Find other ZORGIUM pages using your favorite search engine:
Enter your search keyword(s) and the keyword "zorgium" into the search input field of
http://bing.com,
http://yahoo.com or
http://google.com.
Heads up: There's an ongoing spamdexing of Google searchbot algorithms. Sites that are 'copies of copies' and cloaked sites which include Zorgium keywords presented to search engine crawlers yet garbage content presented to human visitors were hosted on thousands of IP addresses and domains registered immediately after the introduction of Zorgium in November of 2009. The Hostgator/'The Planet'/Softlayer datacenters in Texas seem to be the epicenter of this activity in conjunction with anonymously registered domains of various TLD's but primarily .info domains at Godaddy which, in our opinion, has some sort of connection to the domains of goldmint.in and goldmint.org. Google has begun to notice this and has begun to lower the ranking of these sites and put our original sites back on top of the search rankings. These actions, as far as we can tell, negatively impact the use of the keyword 'zorgium' as a search term and provided little benefit, if any, to the perpetrators.
ZORGIUM note to content providers: If you don't want your page to appear in Zorgium's search abstraction then put an exclusion for "Zorgium" in your web server's robots.txt file.
